About Us

The Hillsborough Education Foundation

The Hillsborough Education Foundation (HEF) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the educational experiences of children, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for the community and enriching the educational environment for all residents of Hillsborough, New Jersey. The goals of the Foundation focus on the future of Hillsborough as a "Learning Community".

The HEF provides funds and resources for educational opportunities beyond the K-12 public schools for adults, seniors, and preschool aged children. Likewise, the Foundation provides a mechanism to help fund or supply resources for various enrichment opportunities for the public schools that are not funded through the annual budget.

The Hillsborough Education Foundation successfully leverages numerous resources for lifelong learning opportunities. HEF gratefully acknowledges and appreciates the Hillsborough School District for collaboration and invaluable assistance in coordinating efforts that, without any cost to taxpayers, maximizes the use of existing resources for the Hillsborough community beyond traditional K-12 "students".

Mission Statement

The mission of the Hillsborough Education Foundation is to:
  • Enrich the educational experience of children residing in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey
  • Support and foster lifelong learning for the entire community
To implement its mission, the Foundation will:
  1. Foster collaborative private sector and community relationships
  2. Be the conduit for private sector investment in public education and lifelong learning
  3. Serve as a catalyst for, and support, programs consistent with the Foundation's mission, in areas such as science, mathematics, technology, performing and fine arts, language, social sciences, culture, and physical education
