The mission of the Hillsborough Education Foundation is to obtain grants, donations, and community volunteers to enrich the educational experiences of the children of Hillsborough and to develop a system for delivery of lifelong learning experiences for the entire community. In order to achieve this mission, the Foundation will engage in the following activities:

1. Foster collaborative community and private sector relationships to meet the educational interests and needs of the community;

2. Inform the community about the strengths of and challenges faced by the Hillsborough public schools and other providers of educational services within the Township of Hillsborough in order to foster greater community involvement and commitment to education;

3. Serve as a catalyst to support and enhance educational programs and other learning opportunities for children;

4. Provide funds to students, teachers, and community residents to develop and initiate programs consistent with the goals of the Foundation in such areas as science and technology, fine and performing arts, language, culture, and physical education; and

5. Seek donations of services, equipment, and funds from businesses, individuals, foundations, and others to support the Foundation's educational goals and purposes.

The Hillsborough Education Foundation successfully leverages numerous resources for lifelong learning opportunities. HEF gratefully acknowledges and appreciates the Hillsborough School District for collaboration and invaluable assistance in coordinating efforts that, without any cost to taxpayers, maximizes the use of existing resources for the Hillsborough community beyond traditional K-12 "students".
